Introduced by the County Services and Finance Committees of the:

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE IN MIS BUDGET FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN AIR CONDITIONING UNIT

RESOLUTION #03-025

WHEREAS, the backup air conditioner in the Management Information Services computer room is no longer functioning; and

WHEREAS, this component is critical to maintain an appropriate operating temperature; and

WHEREAS, it is estimated that repairing the approximately 20 year-old unit that is at the end of its life cycle will cost approximately $10,000; and

WHEREAS, Management Information Services and Facilities recommend that a new unit be purchased with an estimated price of $17,000- $18,000.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Ingham County Board of Commissioners authorizes the increase of the MIS budget not to exceed $20,000 for the replacement of the computer room air conditioner with a funding source within the MIS fund.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes the Controller to make the necessary budget adjustments consistent with this resolution.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners authorizes the Board Chairperson and County Clerk to sign any necessary contract documents upon approval as to form by the County Attorney.
